Fun ideas

It has been a long time since i did anything with this blog so i revamped it a little and will try to be more on time posting. Hope you like it.I have been experimenting with different ways of editing and just trying to find my groove. I am leaning towards more of a textured look these days but find myself playing with HDR (high dynamic range). The other day i was cleaning house and decided it was perfect setup for a shoot. I figured it resembled my life a little bit. Since than I have been toying with the idea of creating a few more on this series. So this being the fist one, soon there will be more to follow.
And here`s one of my favorite mugs as well. It has had the textured treatment.Textures add a whole different look to your photos. I encourage all you newbie photo enthusiates to try them out. There fun and add a story to your otherwise typical photos.

Past weeks

Life has been busy these days as summer slowly comes alive. I can't believe it's been over a month since i last posted on here. This past month has been a haze of excitement and busyness. Our kids finally got to go to the fair again this summer. This year was kind of exciting as the kids were able to go on the rides all by themselves without the aid of me and Bek. I guess their independance is growing. We toured the rides for more than 2 hours before Michael was looking a little overheated. Overall i think the day went really well although Michael became a handfull to get to bed which is understandable as all the activities he got to see. Good job boys.

Our next biggest event was the half marathon where Rebekah, her sister Colleen and Myself ran in it. This we just completed this past sunday on fathers day. I never knew 13 miles could seem so long. I have never had such an experience such as this. My wife Rebekah started training a few months back and asked if i would join her so i thought i would give it a try. Well 4 months later we finally completed it. Bek finished with a time of 2:11 and myself with 2:00:07. I never thought i could have done it but with thousands of people around you, your addreneline kicks into high gear and your emotions carry you through. What a feeling. Afterwards my sister in law gave us a fun poolparty with barbequed food and the weather gaves us sunshine to end the day.

Hot Sunday

Sunday morning came early it seemed. I awoke to the kids morning time call. Got up and realized I had a long run ahead of me. Yes I am in training for the half marathon with my wife. I had 11 miles to run that morning. I am not a morning person to begin with so to run 11 miles first thing is not easy. Well once i got out there the peace and quiet and just listening to my ipod was what i needed. Until my knees started to give out on me. Thankfully Rebekah came out to see how i was doing. I only ran 9 miles that day. Knee braces should cure my problem i hope but only time will tell. After some rest i got a call that will remain in my children's memory for some time. A friend of mine is instructing a firefighting course and they were going to be burning an old house in the afternoon. What a great photo opportunity. The kids were so excited to be able to see such a thing. I am so thankful that the whole crew in the course was more than willing to let me be involved and take some great shots.

After watching the guys do a few burns in different rooms of the house it was finally time to burn it to the ground. It was such a great day as the guys were always explaining all the procedures and the way the fire works. It turned out to be a very informative day. They were very open to discuss anything you wanted to know. I learned quit a bit that afternoon. As the afternoon went on the house erupted in flames and became a show that won't be forgotten anytime soon. Many thanks to the local fire department and my good friend Jay. Good times.

Dreary Days

Well another day of rain and wind.Morning rushed by rather quickly with house chores and meetings. It was one of those blaw days where you just wander around endlessly doing what ever you can to keep yourself busy. Thankfully i had time to go out with Michael and do some erands around town and have a little fun time. The winds were blowing pretty strong today so i thought it would be a good day to go and check out the lake.I was right. Lots of waves and splashing which michael rather enjoyed watching.

Michael and Nathan are already talking about warmer days when they can play on their new play structure that i built and yes the summer fair was mentioned as well. I don't think they will quit asking about it till the day we go. So far the summer is looking to be very busy as we try to find new ideas for the kids to be excited about. We can't wait.Until then, we have to wait out the storm of all this wet weather. Rain jackets and rubber boots season is here. Let the sun show his warm face soon.

My first

Wow my first blog and post. I am excited to start this new adventure sharing whats involved in my life and hopefully hearing back from others as well. My life at home surely isn't boring thats for sure. Theres laughter, frustration, excitement and everything else that evolves around parenthood. I am the father of 2 boys who definetly give "Love" a new meaning. Wether they are flushing things down the toilet and pluging everything up or climbing on our rooftop of our house, they sure are there to keep us on our toes. Both my boys struggle with a form of Autsim. Add ADHD to the mix and life is not boring to say the least. They have opened my world up to a whole new life.

When my oldest son Nathan had to start kindergarden we had to look for childcare in our small community. When we couldn't find any, thats when we decided that I had to become a stay at home dad. Its been challenging but rewarding at the same time. I have grown stronger for it. I have been able to witness my children growing in their weeknesses and overcomming alot of obstacles. Its been hard but as time goes by you see the changes that make them who they are. I wouldn't change it for anything. I started doing photography about two years ago and its become my new adventure. I get to capture all my boys moments and everything else i love. Its amazing. Along the way i will post some of my work and hope you will enjoy it. But for now fatherhood calls.
